2. Efficacy / Effect

○ Effective bacterial species
Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes (group A-beta hemolytic), Listeria monocytogenes, Streptococcus agalactie (group B), Streptococcus viridans, Influenza bacillus, Parainfluenza bacillus , Moraxella catarrhalis, Legionella pneumophila, Bordetella pertussis, Plant campylobacter, Helicobacter pylori, Gonococcus, Animal Pasteurellosis pathogen, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Chlamydia trachomatis, Clostridium perfringens, Peptococcus niger, Propionibacterium acnes, Bacteroides melaninogenicus, Mycobacterium avium, Mycobacterium intracellular

○ Indications
- Lower respiratory tract infections: bronchitis, pneumonia, etc.
- Upper respiratory tract infections: pharyngitis, sinusitis, etc.
- Skin and skin tissue infections
- Mycobacterial infections caused by Mycobacterium avium and Mycobacterium intracellular
- Eradication of Helicobacter pylori in patients with duodenal ulcer

 

3. Usage · Dosage

○ Adults: As clarithromycin, 250mg (potency) is usually administered twice a day, and in case of severe infection, 500mg (potency) is administered twice a day. The duration of administration is usually 7 to 14 days. In patients with renal impairment with creatinine clearance less than 30 mL/min, the dose should be halved.
In other words, 250mg (potency) once a day, in case of severe infection, 250mg (potency) once a day is administered twice a day. Do not administer for more than 14 days in these patients.

 

○ Mycobacterial infection: As this drug, administer 500mg (potency) twice a day. In this case, it should be administered in combination with other antimycobacterial agents such as ethambutol, clofazimine, and rifampin.

 

○ Eradication of Helicobacter pylori in patients with duodenal ulcer: For 14 days, administer 500 mg (potency) of this drug three times a day and omeprazole 40 mg once a day in combination, and administer omeprazole 40 mg once a day for 14 consecutive days. That is, clarithromycin is administered at a dose of 500 mg (potency) three times a day for 14 days (days 1 to 14), and omeprazole is administered at a dose of 40 mg once a day for 28 days (days 1 to 28).

 

○ Children over 12 years of age are the same as adults. Children under 12 years of age use clarithromycin dry syrup.
